Why do you get the hiccups when you've been drinking?

Answer:
Drinking things to fast or swallowing air are usually what triggers hiccups.
It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with drinking. Nobody knows the cause, but for some reason, the diaphragm goes into spasms.
because you've been drinking.....
I don't drink but I get hiccups when I eat fast. The air gets trapped bettween the food that i'm cheweing down.. and I think that's a way it gets out? or do you have to fart to get it out.. I Have no idea..
Well you puke or throw up when you drink to much some times you cant throw up so you hiccup!
YOUR LUNGS ARE GASPING FOR AIR
